I enjoyed Patrick’s article yesterday titled Make your own Luck?
Luck is a word that conjures up a lot of emotions in people depending on how they define the term. I personally don’t believe in what I’ll term dumb luck, and as a Christian, agree with Patrick in his assessment.
Patrick’s article brought two quotes to mind. The first quote is from Samuel Goldwyn. He stated, “The harder I work the luckier I get.”
The second quote is from Elmer G Letterman. He said, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
Patrick said, “I am a firm believer that the more you participate and get involved in life, learning and helping others you will increase you chances of being rewarded.”
I believe that preparation and hard work helps you recognize the opportunities as they present themselves and those we deem lucky are usually visionaries, rather than unintentional recipients of something from the universe. Seeing what can be, and preparing for the right timing, does wonders for someone’s luck.
